Description:
Kölln Tender Bircher Fruity Oat Muesli
For connoisseurs, "Bircher" is more than just a muesli - it is a breakfast confession. Whether classically refined with fresh fruit or pure with milk - Kölln has taken its cue from the inventor's classic model for this fruity oatmeal. Finely drizzled with honey, this Bircher muesli is a wonderfully tender base for an enjoyable breakfast experience.
Kölln Bircher oat muesli has a whole grain content of 75% and is flavour-free, rich in fibre, an important source of protein.
Where does the name "Bircher" come from?
Maximilian Oskar Bircher-Benner was a Swiss doctor and nutritional reformer. He coined the term wholefoods and is considered the "inventor" of today's muesli. The "apple diet" developed for the treatment of his patients was known as "Bircher-Muesli" (mush = porridge) and was representative of his nutritional philosophy:
Bircher-Benner was firmly convinced that food suffers a loss of quality through cooking. He was also convinced of the value of a varied diet and of the importance of using salt, flour, animal fat, sugar and alcohol sparingly. As a consequence, Bircher-Benner recommended a "whole-food" diet with a raw vegetable content of 70 %.
Ingredients:
Wholemeal oat flakes (75%), dried apple pieces, sultanas, dried and sweetened cranberries (cranberries, sugar), dried banana flakes, dried date pieces, chopped hazelnut kernels (2%), honey.
Allergens:
May contain other nuts (almonds, cashews, pecans), milk and peanut.
Content:
1700 g - 1,7 kg
Producer:
Koelln - Kölln
The Kölln family has been active in Elmshorn since 1795, and in 1820 the official start of the Peter Kölln company took place with the entry in the commercial register. What began with a horse-drawn 'Göpel' mill developed over the years into an ever larger business. From the beginning, the focus was on oats, and even today Kölln flakes are among the best known branded products in Germany. Later, other products were added: mueslis and cereals and, more recently, vegetable oils and fats.
