Milla Winery
Pomella cultivates almost four hectares of vineyards at the Milla winery in Cortaccia. It is divided into seven different layers, all on steep slopes and with heavy clay soils. This makes it the ideal location for Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot, which are grown at the Milla winery in Kurtatsch. In different proportions, these three grape varieties also form the basis of Gert Pomella's two wines: the “Centa” and the “Milla”. Pomella follows its own path in the development of both wines. Fermentation takes place in open wooden and steel vats, the pomace cap is turned several times a day - by hand. "I use pressed wine to prolong the physiological maturity of wines", explains the oenologist and farmer of the cellar. Both wines can age in French barriques for 24 whole months. "I build my wine, Centa 'used", Milla', mostly in 100% new barrels ", says Pomella, who finally lets her wines mature in bottles for at least another year.
