Alphonse Mellot is a vigneron from Sancerre, the beating heart of viticulture in the Loire Valley. Owner of the La Moussiere domaine, a vineyard of about 30 hectares with south-west exposure of exceptional quality, Mellot produces a white Sancerre from sauvignon blanc grapes, while from pinot noir grapes from old vines of the Vieux Clos Chambrastes parcel, he obtains the Sancerre red and pink. Today the Domaine is managed by Alphonse Mellot Junior, together with his sister Emmanuelle, who is also the owner of the Pénitents domaine, in the Nièvre area in Burgundy and planted with chardonnay and pinot noir. "Satellite" is the label of the new cuvées elaborated in the village of Chavignol.
