Description

Description:
The vines planted in 1899 on an extreme hillside in Missian mark one of the oldest vineyards in South Tyrol. The grape goods, which have been handpicked with the utmost care and painstaking work and the extremely low yield form the valuable basis for our Pinot Blanc SANCTISSIMUS. The grapes are mashed in amphorae with the peels and ferment slowly for a few months. The wine finds its natural balance after a maturing process in a large wooden barrel made of locally grown oak. A nice match between acidity, fruit and complexity characterizes this Pinot Blanc. Brilliant straw yellow. Complex nose, shows notes of ripe apple, with fine spicy notes, of sage. On the palate, voluminous, juicy, creamy and persistent on the finish.

Grape varierty:
Pinot Blanc - Südtirol DOC Riserva

Production area:
Calcareous moraine deposit of glacial origin planted already about 1899; steep and south facing slopes (between 350-400 m.a.s.l.).

Gentle fermentation on the skins in big clay amphorae, maturation in large wooden barrel made of locally grown oak.

An ideal accompaniment to meals, particularly suitable for Mediterranean dishes, breaded sea fish, white meat and aromatic cheese. In order to develop its full potential, the wine needs time to breathe. Ideally, it is drunk from a Burgundy glass.
