Description:
This Chardonnay from the Petit Chablis appellation presents itself with a shiny straw yellow and greenish reflections. Aromas of white flowers (hawthorn, acacia), mixed with citrus notes (lemon, grapefruit), mineral background (flint) and occasionally scent notes of peach can be recognized. On the palate, it delights with its liveliness and balance, accompanied by a subtle acidity. We achieve ideal drinking pleasure with this wine after about 2 years of bottle storage.

Chablis, a very tranquil and sleepy place, would probably not be known or visited by anyone in the world were it not for the ideal geological and climatic conditions to produce world-class Chardonnay. Like so many winemakers in France, Thierry Laffay is extremely taciturn , very politely and in rehearsal he speaks, if at all, about the vineyards and their soils; He doesn't say a word about his wines. These show, even without being described by the winemaker, the qualities that come on the bottle in this cool but scenic area. Laffay owns about seven hectares of vineyards, all of them small parcels and only in the most valuable locations in and around Chablis. In this landscape in particular, as elsewhere, it is the microclimate and the soil that give the wines their incomparable character, combined with an immediately recognizable personality. Laffay brings wines to the bottle which, with extremely moderate alcohol gradations, are defined by the noticeable stony, almost chalky note. Bone-dry, full of tension, combined with saliva-forming juiciness, these wines are wonderful companions to whole menus.
