This Chardonnay is an extraordinarily well-loved white wine with a green-yellow colour, delicately fruity nose and lively flavour.

Production area:
The vineyards on the valley floor of the Lowlands around the towns Cortina, Magrè and Salorno are in one of Alto Adige’s largest and most traditional white wine production areas and famous for their fresh, fruity and mineral whites. Loamy and sandy alluvial soil.
Vinification:
The grapes were softly pressed, clarified through natural gravity settling of the sediments and finally fermented in stainless steel tanks at low temperatures (18 - 21°C) to retain the classic aromatic qualities. Prior to bottling the wine is aged for a minimum of 4 months on the fine lees in the tank.
Food pairing:
As the alcohol content is very low this wine is ideal accompaniment to light dishes and starters during hot summer days.
Serving temperature:
8 - 10°C.

more than 3 years.

The Castelfeder Estate Winery was founded in Egna more than 50 years ago by Alfons Giovanett, but since that time, hardly anything has remained the same. “The product line has been expanded, production has increased, the processes in the winery have been modernized, and the market has become more international,” says Günther Giovanett, who took over the estate from his father Alfons and runs it with his children Ivan and Ines. Today, the Castelfeder Estate Winery encompasses 65 hectares, on which 70 percent is planted with white wine varieties.“The focus is on Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Grigio, and Sauvignon Blanc,” Giovanett explains. With the red wines, the concentration is on Pinot Noir.
