Description:
Pale pink in color like the Carina rose, this fresh Eichenstein Rosé is made from the South Tyrolean autochthonous grape variety Vernatsch/Schiava. With its fruity and fresh aromas, characterized by cherry, raspberry and a delicate touch of ripe strawberry, is it the perfect wine for balmy summer nights.

Production area:
The grapes for our rosé come from the Knott vineyard in Marling. This vineyard is located at 300 m above sea level and faces east with a slope inclination of about 40%. The Vernatsch vines were planted in 2001 and have a strongly branched root network which grows deep into the medium-heavy mineral-rich slate soils.
Vinification:
Due to the short maceration time on the press this Rosé gets its typical light colour. The subsequent fermentation in steel tanks takes place at about 16 - 18°C. The young wine is then stored on the fine lees for 6 months.
Food Pairing:
This Rosé wine is an ideal aperitif wine.
Serving temperature:
10 - 12°C.
Ageing potential:
2 - 4 years.

The vineyards of the Eichenstein Estate Winery lie in Montefranco above Merano at an elevation of 550 to 600 meters. “The interplay between microclimate, terrain, geology, and soil composition is extraordinary at Eichenstein,” Waldner explains. In concrete terms, that means that the estate winery’s grapevines grow on porphyry-quartzite and granite soils, in a Mediterranean climate, and on an Alpine landscape.
