Description:
Bright pink colour. The nose reveals primarily fruity aromas reminiscent of ripe cherries and strawberries. Persistent on the palate with hints of red fruits and mineral notes. An exceptional freshness rounds off the flavour profile. Purple Rose, is broad and complex, with floral hints, intense cherry and raspberry notes. Juicy, spicy and elegant.
Grape variety:
Sangiovese, Merlot - Toscana IGT.
Production area:
20 to 40 year old vines in Guyot training on calcareous and clayey soils at 460 to 525 m altitude.
Vinification:
The fermentation of part of the must (about 30%) in second pass oak barrels gives the wine a longer shelf life and better colour stability, as well as a more complex aroma by highlighting the pleasant bouquet of red fruits with deeper nuances.
Obtained from the best Sangiovese barrels through a "salasso" (saignee) performed after about 12 hours of contact with the skins.
Food pairing:
Perfect with risotto, sushi and sashimi, pasta with fish, grilled fish.

The Castello di Ama estate is located in the heart of the Chianti Classico area. For almost three decades in the municipalities of Gaiole and Radda, Lorenza Sebasti and Marco Pallanti have been producing some of the best wines in the world. The couple set new standards with their philosophy. Castello di Ama was named Winery of the Year in 2005 by the Gambero Rosso wine guide. The farm was founded in 1972 by four Roman families and has now grown to 250 hectares. The vineyards are on slopes up to 480 meters high, the vineyards are harmoniously combined with 40 hectares of olive groves.
