The region around the idyllic wine village of Barbaresco, where the Rocca family's vineyards are located, is blessed with a truly unique microclimate and ideal soil, which differed decisively from the DOCG terroir of the "big brother" . "Barolo, only 20 kilometers away. The demanding Nebbiolo grape finds in the Barbaresco area a soil rich in minerals, calcareous and clayey, interspersed with layers of sandstone and tuff, much lower than that of Barolo. And it is precisely this quality of the soil that creates the elegant finesse and velvety aspect of the Barbaresco wine and makes this wine the aristocratic among the Nebbiolo wines. After the harvest in October, when the fog that owes its name to the Nebbiolo grape, passes over the vineyards of Tenuta Albino Rocca, fermentation of the must takes place and then aging in large Austrian and German oak barrels, which can last up to 20 months.
