Producer: Fontanafredda Winery Today Fontanafredda is one of the most famous and esteemed producers of the Langhe. It all began with the tireless work of the oenologist Emanuele Guerrieri of Mirafiore, who managed the winery since 1878. The Serralunga d'Alba winery, in the province of Cuneo, produces internationally renowned wines on the Fontanafredda estate. Whether it is Barbera, Barolo or Barbaresco, these types of wine enchant the palates of gourmets from all over the world. The vineyards, between 200 and 400 meters high, are at home in municipalities such as Diano d'Alba or Serralunga d'Alba. The winemakers of the winery focus on the cultivation of traditional grape varieties such as Moscato, Barbera, Dolcetto or Nebbiolo. Winemakers pay particular attention to the purchase of grapes from leased plots. It is particularly important for winery operators that the special characteristics of the individual grape varieties and terroir are expressed in an impressive way. The most important red wines are stored in steel and oak tanks in huge cellars from the 19th century.
