Description:
Color: Deep garnet red. Aroma: Intense fruity scents; ripe red fruits, spices, lovely chocoalate, vanilla and cocoa notes. Flavor: Dense and complex on the palate with elegantly structured tannin and a lingering, velvety finish.
This elaborate Cuvée of Lagrein and Merlot combines fruitiness and elegant tannin-structure. Deriving from grapes that originate from sun-kissed and warm soils in Settequerce and Gries, its Latin name ''Mauritius'' speaks of the village San Maurizio, located between the two cultivating zones.

Production area:
Warm, fertile soils of San Maurizio near Bolzano at 250 m a.s.l. (820 ft).
Vinification:
Traditional red wine fermentation and maturation in French barriques for 10-12 months, followed by further maturation in the bottle.
Food pairing:
Perfect partner for hearty and savory dishes of red meat, wild boar, wild fowl and hard cheese.
Serving temperature:
17 - 19°C (63 - 66°F).
Ageing potential:
more than 10 years.
