Grappa Prosecco Poli Due Barili 40% vol. Poli Jacopo 1898 Distillery

An aroma reminiscent of milk chocolate with raisins and roasted hazelnuts. Warm and pleasant taste. 

"The first time I visited Bodegas Williams & Humbert in Jerez de la Frontera, I was absolutely speechless. Never could I have imagined what awaited me as soon as I entered the house: a true cathedral of sherry. 

Thousands upon thousands of botas, the typical 500-liter barrels, perfectly lined up and stacked in a huge space: some 180,000 square feet of cellars filled to the ceiling, conveying to the visitor the intense, enveloping aroma of the sherry at rest. 

After trying to hit a copita with a kind of scoop called venencia (to no avail, perhaps because I had just tasted fino, amontillado and oloroso...), I chose some barrels of PX 12 years, a sherry made from Pedro Ximenez grapes, particularly dense and sweet, with a robust structure and complex aromas of dried fruit. 

I doubt anyone will notice that some barrels are missing from the list, because there are another 40,000 barrels! 

They are now in the cellars of my distillery in Schiavon to enrich this unforgettable grappa with unique aromatic notes."

Poli Due Barili is particularly rich and smooth on the palate, thanks to the floral aroma of the Prosecco pomace and the time spent in the distillery's underground cellars, where the 225-liter oak barrels rest.
