Description

Description:
This white wine has bright and expressive yellow tinges, producing a full-bodied aroma with fine spicy hints, grapefruit notes and a gentle flowery perfume. It is an extremely lively, though harmonious and quiet wine, totally enjoyable. If you wait just a little longer before tasting this wine, in a few years‘ time it is certain to provide you with true delight.

Grape variety:
Souvigier Gris.  The T.N. 06 wine is made using the robust, fungus-resistant (PIWI) Souvignier gris grape variety. The main part of this vineyard was planted in 2006. These magenta-coloured, medium-sized grapes have a very harmonious aroma and are well-balanced to the taste.

Production area:
Our grapes are grown inside the ''Hof Gandberg'' Farm located along the wine route, more specifically in Appiano, which is 520 metres above sea level, at the foot of Mount Ganda to the East. The soil there is rocky, strongly calcareous, deep and clayey.

Vinification:
After pressing the grapes, the must was aged in barrels with yeasts from their vineyards for 12 months. For another nine months the wine was left to age in a steel vat. This nectar was bottled in July. It will now need at least an extra eight months before it can start to be sold in December.

Matching:
Pasta dishes with vegetables, cream cheese, vegetable risotto, sushi & sashimi, white meat stew.

Serving temperature:
12 - 14°C.

Ageing potential:
more than 10 years.

Bottle to:
750 ml - 75 cl - 0,75 lt.

Allergens:
Wine can contain sulphites.

For Thomas Niedermayr the process begins at the source. In the soil. With Mother Nature herself. Only healthy and living soil can produce robust and vigorous plants. Walking around Hof Gandberg, you come across Indian runner ducks, chickens, lovingly planted beds teeming with vegetables and herbs and a proliferation of plants between the vines. Every plant here is literally crying out biodiversity! And you can feel it, too. he vineyards located around the farm at 500 to 530 metres above sea level are influenced by the specific climate of the 'Ice Holes' and by 'Gandberg', which stands out as an impressive rock formation in the background. This means that the wines growing here are distinct thanks to their striking freshness and vivacity. PIWI varieties mean that chemicals and artificial substances can be dispensed with. And experience, empathy and passion mean that nature is allowed free range.

The smell offers a rich and colorful bouquet of tropical fruits, flint and elderflower. Pleasantly fresh and lively notes of citrus and lemon balm. Its taste seduces and convinces with its mineral character that characterizes it. The fruity yet velvety aromas make it refined and elegant. Pleasant mineral reverberation. Bottle to: 750 ml - 75 cl - 0,75 lt.
